NIDIA™ is deep learning redefined by nursing intuition and significantly reduces alarm fatigue. The nursing intuition score (NIS) reflects the nurse’s expertise. Patient alarm thresholds can be adjusted, learning from the EHR to establish what is considered normal for a patient. This is analogous to teaching new nurses why a patient initially presents as normal, and why I believe the patient will deteriorate in the next 24-48 hours, utilizing the more intangible indication of nursing intuition.
