Digital health plays a significant role in the future of healthcare. This study has the potential to determine whether the value of virtual care and remote monitoring for management of chronic conditions and prenatal care. This is important considering that, pre COVID-19 pandemic, hospitals were already experiencing the negative impacts of staffing issues and clinician burnout and access to care remains particularly challenging. Developing team-based models and scalable solutions is critical.
